The Project
Located in the Brisbane CBD the Treasury Brisbane Hotel and Casino has ten restaurants and bars. They required a kitchen fire protection system that conformed to all current Australian standards for a new restaurant. The system needed to protect diners, staff and casino patrons from any potential cooking oil fires as annually the destruction caused from kitchen fires cost millions of dollars in lost revenue and repairs, risks the lives of staff and diners and cost tens of thousands of jobs.
The Solution
Delta Fire met with the Casino’s Fire Protection company and builder to review different options. As this was a new kitchen, Delta Fire worked closely with the Treasury Casino to review the exhaust hood and cooking appliances and to work out the best use of space.
The overall system included 24hr protection as well as automatic and manual actuation. It also needed to be very easy to operate by kitchen staff.
Outcome
Delta Fire provided an ANSUL kitchen fire suppression system. We created drawings for the builder and Fire Protection Company to determine where to mount the pull station, automan and cylinders. Delta Fire then supplied and installed the system.
We commenced work within five days from sign off and completed the project within a month with the help and assistance of the Casinos Fire Protection Company. The Treasury Casino was delighted with the results.
