Challenge
One of Australia's largest food companies with a global footprint and a diversified portfolio of leading brands approached Delta Fire to assess and upgrade the fire suppression systems protecting critical production machinery at one of their facilities.
The existing systems, designed to activate upon flame detection, were outdated (ODG) and no longer aligned with the company's push towards a greener footprint. To meet their environmental goals and enhance fire safety, upgrading the systems was essential.
Solution
Delta Fire conducted a thorough assessment of the individual requirements for each piece of production machinery onsite. Custom designed local gas systems were built to meet the specific needs of each machine. These systems were engineered to react swiftly in the event of a fire, flooding the affected environment with a protective agent to mitigate damage.
The outdated FM-200 systems were replaced with Novec, an ecofriendly alternative at the time. This change ensured compliance with the company's green initiatives while maintaining optimal fire protection.
Delta Fire completed the project over four consecutive 12hour days, working collaboratively with the site team to minimise disruption to production schedules.
Outcome
The new systems provided a significant environmental upgrade to the facility's fire suppression strategy, aligning with the company's commitment to reducing its ecological footprint.
