The Project

Bankwest Stadium provides undercover seating for 30,000 people as well as high-quality food and beverage facilities and five levels of corporate and function facilities.

Delta Fire’s brief was to provide kitchen staff and customers with reliable and effective kitchen fire protection for their fry stations.

Deep-fat fryers use flammable cooking oil which can result in grease build-up in hoods and ducts if they are not cleaned regularly and adequately. If this grease build-up ignites, it can contribute to a fast-spreading fire, leading to extensive damage and costly downtime.

The Solution

Delta Fire was given kitchen planning drawings by the stadium’s fire consultants who held the contract for the fire protection on the site. We were given a brief to provide Ansul R102 suppression systems throughout all the kitchens to protect the fryer station areas.  In collaboration with Base Fire and the head contract builders, we determined the best overall design, including where the system components are to be mounted and where the manual activation locations needed to be placed.

Outcome

Delta Fire installed Ansul R102 suppression systems throughout all the kitchens in the stadium, and Bankwest Stadium was extremely satisfied with the final results. The expert advice and collaborative approach provided by Delta Fire means that all the kitchens staff and the stadium’s customers are protected.
